I never knew that poppies grew in Missouri.  In fact, ever since I'd seen them…

I never knew that poppies grew in Missouri.  In fact, ever since I'd seen them in California, I had been trying to find a way to photograph them again.  You can't get them from a florist.  You can grow them from seed, but you can't repot them without probably killing them, and they require ridiculously large pots.  Regardless, I was quite overjoyed to see them at the gardens.

Daffodils and Yellow Things

This was the other picture I was considering for the Yellow category in the scavenger hunt.  I thought it was ironic because Daffodils (or Jonquils) are typically yellow but these only had a hint of yellow in the center.  I believe it is a Forsythia bush in the background contributing to the yellow streak across the diagonal horizon line, and a flowering plum tree making peachy-white bokeh dots in the sky.

Yellow is represented in the image, but the subject is not yellow.  However, because the daffodils make you think of yellow, the image is yellow in more ways than one.
